at times i used to end up with chips flying and getting caught under wheels on yz min i worked out way to stop that when surfacing slabs i dont run my vac and chips pile up along railing but never cause issue on that side so was wondering
on next build which is only going be about 400 x 800mm table, which not planning on having vac on it as such was thinking could i do rail on both sides
question are the yz max and min printed plates the same they look close to me
is it only the wheel min and max that are different , so if it doesn’t work all i have to do is change wheel mounts and go back to original design
as it is so short squaring up rails wont be an issue, am i wasting my time even trying it

If you look at the gantry, the xz plates are staggered to compensate for the height differential. You would basically need to mirror the entire rail half of the machine. It’s doable but not as easy as just adding the rail.
yip i know it will be some fiddling around , but as long as its doable 
it will keep my brain active , which is what i need right now so i dont go loopy

Yeah, his project is really interesting. I think it’s missing some abuse trials and possible refinements from there, but the work he’s done is really impressive. He’s using printed parts and easy to find hardware. Very much in line with the v1e mantra. The only caution i would give is that its his pride and joy, not a fully flushed out v1e design. So you have to expect some iterations and “need to figure it out" while he is still sorting it all out. But I’m extremely interested in that project as hole.
