Y & Z Axis - one side slower after upgrade to Jackpot 3

Hi guys,

today I upgraded from Jackpot 1 to 3 and got everything running - sort of. One side of Z and Y axis is much slower than the other which does not let me home the machine or move it since it crashes immediately. X is fast an homes fine.

  • The axis are moving in the right directions
  • When I switch left/right socket on the board the fault switches sides
  • JP1 worked just fine 30mins before
  • With standard Github config its the same

Could this be a config related mistake? Or hardware?

I could not find any info on someone having the same problem.

TY

I’d check to be sure that you’ve got the all the Y and Z motors connected properly. Sounds like maybe you’ve got one Y crossed with one Z.

Did you use the Jackpot 3 config.yaml? The two boards have different hardware implementations and you can’t mix the config files.

Can you copy/paste the output of the $SS command in the terminal back here in the forum for analysis?

Use the preformatted text format type. It looks like this on the forum editor toolbar: </>

Did you have a look at JP1 config and JP3 config side by side?

And yes I also used the plain JP3 config from github.

They are plugged in correctly. Every stepper moves in the right direction - only one side is significantly slower than the other - both Z and Y.

since the machine just worked fine with JP1 it cannot be a hardware related problem

I helped just a bit with development the JP3 board. Yes, I’ve seen both configs.

You haven’t done the most important step…

Power up your board, then when it is misbehaving get that $SS output and post it here as requested.
