Wiring up the BL Touch Probe

I have been having issues getting the BL touch probe to work…

I have seen this wired two different ways to the SKR Pro 1.2 board…

This is one way i have seen it…

Which way is the correct way for the MP3DP V4?

Is it common for these probes to have manufacturing defects, as in not work right out of the box?
Mine is blinking both 50% red and 80% red fast, and per the manufactures notes this could be due to a defect or dust intrusion?

Ok, I solved this myself, bottom image is correct, and the polarity matters for the BL touch endstop function.
