Wiring Advice

Is there any guides on how to wire the V5? I’ve read through the official documentation and I understand that each build will be different but is there a general guideline on how to do the wiring?

Greetings, @fish and welcome to the V1 community forums.

Wiring the MP3DP is very similar to wiring other printers, or even other CNC machines.

The best source for ideas would be to look over the build threads here in the forums and see what other builders have done.

Part of the advice we would give would be based on your experience level and how comfortable you are with crimping or soldering, what specific 3D printer components you are using, which controller, and even how you intend to use the machine.

Can you give us some more information about you and your build?

I’m sure there will be plenty of advice coming from the community as you start your build.

Hi @MakerJim and @probrwr

Thank you for the warm welcome here.

Regarding your questions, I am currently busy sourcing parts for two MPCNC’s both with different purposes. Unfortunately my country makes importing things almost 2X the price which is quite unaffordable. To counter this and still be able to contribute to the effort and time spent designing these machines I plan to become a permanent patreon subscriber once the machines are running. In other words, everything will be self sourced and custom wired with ESP32’s and breakout boards etc for running FluidNC.

In regards to my experience, I’ve build Prusa 3D printers (don’t laugh :yum: ) Have basic experience with soldering and crimping things like JST and Molex connectors.

I’ve not started a build for the MP3DP V5 yet, but I am planning to build a couple of printers. For components it would probably be in the line of what would be used for a Voron Trident. If you say wiring is similar to other 3D printers I assume you mean Core XY printers? If thats the case I could definitely draw inspiration on how the people here wire theirs along with using the Trident documentation in regards to using 220V bed heater and solid state relays etc. That is the part that I am most nervous about.

Kind regards
