I have just finished building my Lowrider 4, this thing is cool!
I can control the machine with USB via Gsender however I changed the settings in FluidNC to get on my network and managed to loose the IP address. FluidNC will not revert back to AP mode which is telling me the WIFI setup was accepted. I am unable to locate the IP however so I am essentially locked out of the web interface.
Please help me get back up and running, Thank you
I have a router sitting about 20 feet from the machine
Embarrassing is the word of the day!
If you did not disable it, you can try to connect with http://fluidnc.local
If that works, you can run $SS in the terminal to get the IP if you need.
Otherwise, you’ll need to connect directly with a USB cable and run FluidTerm or with the terminal at http://installer.fluidnc.com to get the IP on startup.
If you want it on STA mode, you will need to assign it a static IP, use a DHCP reservation in your router, or continue to use http://fluidnc.local, or you’ll be chasing IP addresses long term
Thank you sir!
I have tried this but it fails to connect
I am going to head down this path now. There is a learning curve for me here.
I will setup a static IP on my network for the machine, I would like avoid this situation if possible in the future.
I think I have most of this straightened out but I have not been able to learn how to install the current “yaml” to the system. I flashed the original when I had my moment earlier.
I got it working again.
Thank you for the help
Can’t you also just turn off your internet/router for a few minutes and then restart the controller while your wifi is down? When it fails to find your normal WiFi network, I believe it will temporarily revert back to AP mode.
I have it all sorted out now. Everything is working as it should.
That can work if you happen to have it in STA>AP
, and if turning off wifi to everything in your house is not a bigger inconvenience than just connecting to it with a USB cable…
But sometimes we have people that have mistakenly put it in Client Station only by accident as well, so that’s not something I would normally recommend as a step unless everything else fails
Agreed that it’s not necessarily convenient. But it might be the least inconvenient option in some cases. Good to know that it’s not always an option. I’ve used it before though.
