Which Router do you use for the CNC Compass?

Hello
i try in the moment to find the last parts for the router over German Websides or german Amazon or Ali Express.

Which Router do you use for the CNC Compass?

How many mm are good 6 or 8mm ?

ER11 to hold the tools ?

For germany, I’d think makita rt0702c.

That has 6 and 8mm collets. For ER-11 the carbide3D clone of the makita would be great, but that’s unfortunately only available in the US and would anyways need quite a big transformer to run on 230V mains.

I am in between using my katsu router clone 8mm collet (got it from Amazon DE). Or my makita RT0702C. The makita has auto start protection which is not ideal as you can’t manually turn it on using a relais or switch. When you turn it on you still need to flip the switch as second precaution.

Though there is also a safety merit on needing to manually also turn on the router and only having the relais that turns off the router if the router pulls out of bounds. I have to see when I build the compass.

Does the Katsu have proper speed control? You’ll most likely want to run the router in a compass on fairly low speed, which would make speed control important vs a dial that controls the routers power.

For information, I live in Italy and I asked Carbide 3D if they also sell in Europe. Below is the response I recently received:
