hi im in between Makita ,DEWALT ,or RIDGID routers
what will be the best choice
I personally went with the Makita, because it was less expensive, available locally if I needed to replace it under a time crunch, had a lower RPM setting, and was lighter than the Dewalt. I haven’t read much about the rigid, but that’s what influenced my decision regarding the Makita.
Ok thx
And your right i can get the dewalt cheaper than makita si that a good point if i need one for ever reazon i can get one
Also got Makita for lower RPM setting. Consider the warranty option if you’re planning to run the router for many many hours…
I’ve not seen a Lowrider mount for the Ridgid trim router, so if you go that route, you’ll have to design your own or find someone who will work with you in creating one. Plus, there is the issue of finding a 1/8" collet for this router.
The Malita and its quality clones seem to dominate across a lot of CNC machines in the same class as V1 machines. Personally, I went with this Makita clone sold by Carbide 3D. It came with a collet for 1/8" bits, which you will need to purchase extra if you buy the Makita or the Dewalt.
If you go with the Makita or the Dewalt, V1/Ryan sells 1/8" collets for them in his shop.
thats a good point
im already buying the dewalt collet the thing is thatdewalt were i live
is more cheaper than makita and makita is a bit hard to find for me
thx for your info
Just gonna chime in a bit here, on my LR2 I got the recommended Dewalt 611. It’s a super strong router, and I’m planning to mount it on my LR3 too. I have used it for almost 4 years now, and not had a single issue with it.
Plus there’s mounts, vac-shoes, etc already available for the LR3. If you can get the Dewalt cheaper than the makita, you won’t be disappointed I promise.
