What TFT35 firmware do I need on my LR4 / SKR Pro?

Hi,

First post, apologies if I commit any faux pas. I’ve got my LR4 assembled but not fully wired. Endstop switches aren’t plugged in and nor are the stepper motor drivers. I powered up the SKR Pro and the TFT35 with 24v DC. Both lit up. The TFT35 says no printer is connected, though the two boards are connected in line with the instructions. I’ve checked all three cables and their polarity is correct. I believe I need to update its firmware so I’ve gone to the GitHub page linked off the build instructions (can’t include link here).
There are a few different sets of files there though. The most recent thread I could find asking this question was from 2020, so pre-dates most of them. Could anyone confirm what I need to load onto the TFT35?
Thankyou very much in advance.

Welcome to the forum! Don’t worry about faux pas (or real pas, for that matter). This forum is pretty easy going.

The printer not connected is common, and may or may not indicate a problem. The message will appear on startup, and will remain for up to 30-45 seconds. If it stays after that, there’s a few things to check.

First up is the wiring. It’s easy to reverse the connectors, so verify that the grey cable and both black cables are connected as per the pictures in the documentation.

Next is the firmware. Ensure that both the SKR board and the TFT board have the correct firmware. Links are on the documentation page. I’m on my phone right now, but I’ll post a direct link in a couple of hours for you.

Also make sure the baud rate for the TFT matches what it is set to in Marlin. 250000 (If I remember correctly, it’s been a while)

Thankyou both. Connectors are wired correctly but the TFT35 is boot looping. I’ve had a look at the documentation page but I’m not fully clear what needs to go on the SD card to be flashed to the TFT35. The latest entry is this:

I’m a bit confused as to why there’s two packages; do I need the contents of both CNC_TFT.zip and Repeat_TFT.zip, or only one?

No, the CNC_TFT is the one you want.
The other is if your are building a MP3DP Repeat 3D printer.

Aaah, daylight dawns inside my ageing mind. Thankyou very much!

Firmware on the TFT35 updated. The touchscreen works as it should and I can navigate the menus. Still not connecting to the SKR Pro. After a lot of searching round the house, I’ve got a micro SD card but no reader, so awaiting one from Amazon tomorrow so I can update the firmware on the SKR Pro. Will post back here once that’s done.

Glad you’re making progress. The SD card needs to be 32GB or smaller, and Class 4 or lower. Bigger capacity or higher Class rated cards don’t work well with those boards.
