I noticed in the braces I printed for the LR4 that there are holes going into where the rail sits. What are these for? Was Ryan considering sheet metal screws?
They were meant for optionally attaching the braces to the rails in case it made it stronger.
I’m not sure it was ever proven to be necessary, or if it even provided any better performance.

Also very much this. It is not suggested to use them yet. If not done correctly it can mess up your beam and make it twisted which is not a good thing
So basically it is there, sitting, taunting you. Screw me, the holes say!
But you can’t! You don’t want to risk ruining what you have!
I am talking about a straight, non-twisted beam, you pervs…
now i have the itch of using the damm holes
They are for an optional bracket to hold emergency red rope licorice.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could get red rope licorice in 1.75mm diameter and use it to 3d print candy parts!! Kinda like that outfit that makes the chocolate 3d printers…
You could use black too! With dual extruders!
That would be awesome. I wonder if sugar would work like that, or if keeping it at a specific temperature for long enough is enough to ruin it.
Have you seen this?
Nice! I hadn’t seen that before!
