I’ll end up in the next State Farm commercial.

“My CNC burned down my He-Shed! Am I covered?”

You could build the enclosure out of cinder blocks.

Or fire brick, and build up a secondary enclosure above… CNC Pizza oven!

I’ve thought of putting cement board under the spoil board. Added mass might help with it wobbling so mush as well.

You had to say it didn’t you:crazy_face::crazy_face::crazy_face:

good to know. why i don’t have a fire extinguisher and smoke alarm in the area of my new CNC is beyond me. easy buy on amazon. I feel kinda dumb!

I also had plans to install a webcam in the basement, it’s a brilliant feature I put on my Creality 3D. Just nixed that idea.

Also ear protection. This machine is loud!

Things I didn’t think about when building it!

I used Mt. Dew to put out my last CNC fire

Don’t do it, you’ll regret it. I had a fire too when my router went dumb and tried to start drilling into China.

i’m gonna put mine in the Ex-wifes garage.

Wait, what? Webcam? CNC? Fire extinguisher? Mt Dew? Hearing protection? Handy tree? Halon system? Depending on your ex-wife, any one or more of them could be welcomed, appreciated (by someone), cathartic, illegal, and/or even profitable. Again, depending on your ex…

3d printer is ok but a CNC is asking for fire and trouble. I learned that the hard way. I put the fire out before it became bad but it happened so fast that a webcam provides a false sense of security. For me? No camera Just cold beer and a comfortable chair to babysit

Well, like I said… I wouldn’t leave my CNC running unattended.
99.5% of the time, I am in the workshop anyway.

I leave my 3d printer running unattended, as it has a compressive fire extinguisher system on it (not that it’s ever come close to needing it).

Dude! Digging the enclosure! I built something similar when I had a rostock.

I hate my RoStock these days because it so damn temperamental. I have far better and more reliable printers now. It only ever gets used for long prints that are sizeable/tall.

Of course… it has the required RGB.

Mine died, so I replaced it with a railcore zl. Deltas are fun to watch though.
