A LowRider v4 can be built for about $800 to $900 and Ryan shows how to build a full sheet capable table for around $200 in materials.
Yes, you build it all yourself, but that’s actually a selling point for me. I love the wide eyes when folks realize the awesome thing I made for them was made using a machine I built for myself.
Correction made in the above post: I double checked, and the CNC machine they were using was not a Stinger, but rather a Panther, which is nearly double the price of a Stinger.
Dude, great catch. I forgot about that option— although that would change the price calculus a bit — still a great option. Reminds me of how you can get a Prusa printer either as a kit or almost fully assembled.
Yep Festool has some neat stuff, and for some of their tools there’s just not a competitor to it. But they are so pricey that I don’t own a single Festool item.
PS: the guys from Tools Today probably don’t have to pay for a single tool they are showing. Must be nice.
@Dreyfus I know, right? Just a show that they can, I guess. You would be able to do custom configurations and custom sizes that you can’t get in a flat pack.
Neat machine. Hopefully they’ll catch up with LowRider 4’s capability of being able to film lit cooled cutting of parts while still being able to vacuum properly, like… this
