This might seem dumb but go with it…I need to get v carving into my skillset but am stumping myself without a “good, simple idea” so I can understand the power of v carving. Can someone just toss me a simple challenge and see how I tackle it with a v-carve? I set up an old country looking sign but the ESTLcam estimate was over 7 hours. Don’t want to cut my teeth on v carves with something that involved…

Just carve a couple words in a font that has nice sharp corners!

Don’t forget to make a template of the object you’re engraving on in estlcam or your cad app of choice. I thought these were bigger… I’m planning on redoing it on the back side, someday.

I just wrote my name in a couple of fonts on a piece of pine. Nice thing is, you can grab a chunk of cheap 1x4 or 1x6.
