Hello! I am in the process of “Upgrading” (more like rebuilding, I was far too eager and stingy when printing my old one, leading to horrible CNC quality) my pre-burly MPCNC to Primo. I was planning on buying the set of parts for upgrading here on the site, but then I saw that shipping was as much as the hardware, and I remembered that customs fees would make it even more expensive. Therefore I started looking on Ebay and other more local resellers, but I could not find anywhere that sold 5/16" x 1.5" bolts for a reasonable price. I was wondering if M8 40mm screws works just as well? They should be the same diameter, but the problem is that they are a couple of mm too long. Are there any conflicts where this would be a problem?
(As a side note, does anyone know anywhere within EU or Scandinavia where you can get the GT2 pulleys for a reasonable price? I could buy from Ebay just wondering if anyone has a recommended place to buy.)
The M8x40mm are listed as alternatives. Be careful with the heads on the bolts. There are warnings on that parts page, but I think the socket cap screws don’t have a wide enough head to grip well enough.
I think it’s much more efficient to order the hardware in your own country, and then just send whatever you think is right over paypal for the design.
Thank you you a huge help to everyone here we all look up to you. But a heads up when you in a computer would save some time I should have known you answer like 20 question 5 min and got everyone square away like a keyboard ninja
I didn’t start using the trackball until I got a huge monitor. I really hate using the mouse, and my desk is always messy, so I hated dragging the mouse all over the desk to move across this huge monitor. These mice are the best, and they are dirt cheap. I ended up getting another one because there aren’t any quite like it. I don’t want them to stop making them, and then me break this one.
The keyboard isn’t wireless and it doesn’t roll up. But it does run software that I compiled.
Yes a mouse on my 65 inch is messy and at time frustrating what does your custom software do? Yes my wirless keyboard is also the battery less one also are they the clicky keys
It is qmk firmware. It mostly is benign things like “lower+q” turns into ‘!’. Some of the weirder stuff is the caps lock key is escape if I tap it or goes to a “navigation” layer when I hold it. I stay in the configuration file for qmk.
Sounds useful to linux but my windows machine would.just laugh and say wattttt. I programmed a few.moves in Battlefield 2 that were helpful that was many years ago
This is all at the keyboard level, before any of the keypresses get sent to the OS. It is actually easier in windows because someone made a neat UI to help you customize it, but they only made a windows version.
I really like a trackball. They require very little real estate on the desktop. i’ve been using one for maybe 20 years. Whenever I’m forced to use a regular mouse it feels so antiquated and annoyingly awkward.
I have, but being that my right hand has been altered from its original factory configuration, the side ball works best for me.
I had a wireless sideball for years. When it bit the dust a few years ago I frantically searched the web for another and found 2 of the corded ones and bought them both. They’re awesome.
