Has anyone used TMC2209 drivers for nema23 steppers? The current rating of the TMC2209 is 2A RMS (2.8A peak) which would seem to be enough for a small nema 23 motor.
Nema23 is just a mounting size. There’s enough overlap between Nema17 and 23 that you need to provide more information as to the exact motor before anyone can help you with an answer.
Ya I have nema 23’s. I know they are mounting size. But they are also beefier. With that said they generally run hotter than 2a so please do not use those steppers or hook them up to your printer boards directly. Look for the videos on how to connect the step and direction from our boards to the 6600’s. Its actually easy to do and those steppers are that big because they have a huge heat sink in them to disapate the heat.
