Tips for the rubber cable end on Makita router

Any ideas for routing or generally sorting this annoying thick rubber piece of the router so it doesn’t hit the ends? Of course it can’t bend much like the regular cable.

Turning the router is no good because then I can’t hit the power switch

Anyone have a good way of tidying it up to avoiding it hitting the ends?

I did exactly what you did, just waaay harder

I’m on LR3, though.

:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: I was hoping there’d be a cleaner way but that did the job.

On the LR3 I just made a new shorter bit out of rubberweld tape. Just until I get round to printing a proper one in TPU of course.

Mine looks like this:

I replaced the cord with a festool plug-it adapter for faster unmounting from the lr4.

By the way, do you see the single white wire going into the router? I put a wire inside the housing, touching the lower bearing. With that I do not need the crocodile/magnet side of the touch plate. I have permanent contact to the bit. If you open your router, I can definitely recommend adding the wire.

Yea, I pulled mine out and cut the grommet down so it’s shorter.
