Thermal Heater Problem

Let me say that this has been a fun project. I have finished building and wiring. I have the Rambo 1.4 that I purchased thru you. I have not touched the firmware. I am running on a mac. I plugged in the usb and connected thru Repetier Host. And then I get the notification of a thermal heater problem.

What do I do now?

Did you put the firmware from the V1 site on the board? I suspect it’s complaining that you don’t have a heater probe installed if you’ve still got the default firmware on it.

On rare occasions Ryan messes up. What is the exact message you get? We should be able to narrow it down quickly from that.

Did you try to set the temperature through repetier?

I did not change any of this. I am going to ask a question…but why do I need a temperature setting if i am not extruding? I am milling or carving.

The controller thinks there is a heater for an extruder. Marlin is designed for 3D printers, and we use it because it is useable for cnc machines and it supports a lot of boards. Repetier is also designed for 3D printers.

That menu wasn’t what I was talking about though. You can press a button after it connects to send a temperature command.

Can you try it again and when it errors out, copy the log and share it here?

It is something simple, I’m sure.
