Theatre production

Ive only had my LR4 for about 10 months from when i started building it, was a few bumps along the way nearly binned the whole things a few times as just couldn’t grasp it , thanks to Ryan and everyone else that tried to help with me the mother board issues etc sorry if i seemed like an ass at times, the joys of a head injury basic things aren’t even easy to get my head around. was easier to just buy new board than try and figure it out.

The one thing which has helped so much in finding the passion to want to CNC again is MillMage, I find it so easy to use and it talks to the LR4 direct, anyway that’s another story.

Thought id share a big job i recently picked up and completed,

was bit scary as 1st big job for a customer, but rewarding at same time seeing the finished product as still a newbie

in total there was 16@ 2400 x 1200 sheet and 3 1200 x 3000 sheets cut and than assembled

i cut out a small version with laser, which was the easy part 1st to show customer which they were stoked with

than it came time to re do drawing break into pieces, which was prob 40hrs min, make sure all paths were closed etc.

Put each piece into layers and set tool paths which was quick and easy with millmage select pieces -operation library -apply and done

screenshot of main parts in millmage

these pieces are to hang the big window over top of TVs

upstands for skirtings and braces for door frames, top right of photo is trial of door frame braces

door frames

the door standing is 1600mm w x 2900mm high

main pieces cut and mock set up

steel frame added

1st lot paint

all the other pieces added

in total its 3500 mm w x 3900h with tree on it

the show is of to usa next year

cheers Ryan, yeah pretty dam happy with it

It only became possible by you designing the low rider, and being able to build to custom size, you have actually given me some hope, in being able to work again, as unable to return to our old business.

the computer side of it takes its toll way to much cognitive load so had few days in bed after that, the build side that’s what has kept me going, puts me in happy place i guess

I featured your build in some social media posts. I can tag you if you have some accounts already. I am not just being polite, you made a hell of a project. Giant, many layers and parts. You went from newbie to pro in one project.

Glad to have you as part of the crew!!
