The sign that went wrong

I made a sign for my buddies barbershop. I just made the top trim sign, not the mural.

So I used primed MDF. Painted it black, waited 48 hours. Covered it in blue tape, made dust, then spray painted the lettering. Removed the blue tape and a bunch of the black paint came with it. Then I forgot to set the depth on the second board, cut right into it.

Then the 1/16th bit missed a part of the ark on the trible lines. So hand cut and sanded the missed finish pass only to see 5 random letters where the same thing happened.

The i was afraid to try the tape again to spray the letters, so i ended up hand painting.

So a 2 day project turned into 2 week project.

But it’s done and it turned out better then I hoped, plus my friend really likes it too

Good ol LR2.

I feel this statement very much so!

But those projects are the ones you learn the most from! Finished product looks great!

Yeah, mine was not nearly the same size, but I found out about paint curing same as you.

I also found out that just filling them in was not too bad either!

Is there a story to go with the painting of the picture or did it go smooth  or just :ninja:

Looks great in all aspects

No idea,I will ask if there is deeper meaning behind the mural.

My thought process was “cool” and didnt go deeper. Probably why I like bad movies and tv shows. Just get fed the media and gauge wether I like it or not, not going deeper into "this peice is the Representation of a man putting his life into his work while it slows dains his life away while driving into the future of the unknown. The man on the right using his hands to work, the red repersenting his energy the blue being his enviorment(homelife and relationships) and the white being his job. While it all pours into his car, it being the shell of his life moving forever forward.

Thats what i get out of it when I put some serious thougt into it.

Or its just cool random mural.

I was just wondering if, as much procedural learning went into that is all. You made a wonderful addition. I wish i had something in the public like that  what i have made sits in closets or fireplace mantels or with china in a cabinet but not seen by many  like yours will be you can drive by and take a peak now and then where i never see my creations again
