On one occasion I was able to send some back as packing and I still have a box full of them. It is kind of a running joke now that if you ship someone something, you can or might consider send a duck. The duck emoji to me is kind of a nod or a jab at jeep owners who give each other ducks as a way of complimenting their jeep in the off-road community. In town if you pay attention some jeeps drive around with ducks on their dash. Those are from other owners leaving them as a compliment. So a duck given is a “nice -whatever” and is to me a show of support. Others may have a different meaning. Based on Ryan’s shipping ducks as kind of a joke for fun someone asked for the duck emoji and he put it in as an option. I think it was earlier this year like July timeframe.

Had a coworker buy a box of ducks like that and had them delivered to one of the VPs in the office. We had ducks EVERYWHERE in that building.
