I don’t know if I misunderstand your issue, but would an angled ratchet screwdriver work on the outer screws?
That’s clearly not a really good design, but if you look at the thingiverse page you can see that apparently the designer intended to put the screws from the back of the tool holder plate. He designed his own version of the tool holder, without the shapes for the nuts.
So I’d say in your case, if you don’t want to re-print a tool holder, just find a way to remove the nuts you glued and insert the screws from behind. There is no real need for gluing them in the first place by the way

I suspect that, in time, I’ll decide on a swappable, quick-change tool mount of some sort.
Yes. I guess PART of the issue is that I picked up screws (the black tool steel version) that had a SLIGHTLY bigger head on them then most others that size and so it was just a tad more effort in JAMMING the screws in, in that tight corner.
I think I need to invest in a nice set of “ball-head” Allen wrenches. Preferably with a ball-head at both ends.

I ended up getting a hex-ball-end allen wrench and screwing the screws in, but it wasn’t easy and I’m concerned about the lateral pressure that the Makita mount has placed on the MPCNC’s mounting plate. possibly that my 3D printer needs some calibration. hmmm… I also don’t know if I can now get the screws back out again! LOL
