Tell tale signs - STA vs AP fallback?

Thought I’d give this it’s own topic since I think it’s a quickie unless we dig deeper.

If I’ve got my Jackpot running in STA>AP and see the FluidNC SSID broadcasting does that mean it was unable to connect to my Wifi network?

That is my understanding.

Thanks. Assumed so but wasn’t sure. The Bumble was/is giving me grief but our Wifi is awful at least twice a day here so it’s good to know that if I see the FluidNC SSID that I can still access the machine.

I know you’re running in a fridge which is hard on electronics but if you wanted to put wifi in there bear in mind only the antenna needs to be inside, the router could be mounted on the outside of the container…

That’s one reason, and by far the most likely.

There are edge cases, though.
For example, It could also mean that something hiccuped on the board and FluidNC didn’t read config.yaml correctly for some reason.

FluidTerm output is helpful if you have regular issues with this. The edge cases are much more likely if there are other issues with the machine in that state- like if you have motion issues as was the case in your other topic.

Last night I read up a bit on FluidTerm. I’ll look into that this coming week. Sounds much better than trial and error diagnosis.

Somehow the wifi signal is pretty strong in there. Perhaps that should concern me insofar as refrigeration efficiency is concerned…
