Sully's Corner (LOTS OF PICTURES)

This is an off topic build thread I am starting. If you followed my build for the LR3 turn LR4 you saw that I got into several different projects that sidelined the CNC build. And with everyone in here being somewhat like minded, I thought maybe it would be cool to share the random projects I get into. I dont want to make a new thread for each and every thing, so here it is. Named after my youtube channel that I dont work on, but with the same idea.

The other day (maybe a week or two, IDK) my wife picked up a whole whack of new baby chicks. That means I need to update and modify my exsisting chicken coop/run/paddock. For the purpose of this thread, I should catch you up on the exsisting coop.

The idea moving forward to make an attached second room similar to the first, but having it set up so the two rooms can be separate or open. The run will go under both of the coops for a very protected area to do chicken stuff until they are old and big enough to go out with my exsisting flock. This second room and run can double as a brooding area as well a quarentine zone if need be. It will have two doors on the front instead of two and a tailgate style flip down door. And the egg box will be MUCH closer to the floor. Cross breeze ventilation is a slight concern for me because it is going to adjoin the one side of the bigger coop, but I am hoping to leave the other sides open enough to avoid any kind of issues. The coop I have now vents extremely well even with the Florida sun doing everything it can to bake my ladies.

As of right now Im in the design and thinking phase, but my plan is to use my LR4 to cut the siding material (t111 I think its called) to size and shape. I have zero need for it, but it will give me practical application experience before I try cutting out my kitchen cabinets with it. Plus if I mess up and brake the machine, it wont leave stuck in the middle of a project.

If you need some inspiration: TusciaPollai - the sustainably produced and species-appropriate chicken coop from Italy

The owner bought a LowRider and cut a lot of coops with it over the winter.

Life happens when you have other plans… or so they say.

I had to deal with some broken pool stuff that was brand new last summer. After getting it all in and running, I’m back to chicken coop extension.

Basic idea is a 4x4 room built onto the side of the existing coop. The left side would be the little chicken door. And the taller side will be doors for cleaning out the coop. Obviously my cad hasn’t gotten that far yet, but this should still help visualize it.

and because I do so many random things, here is a few shots of previous projects:

game spinner my mother in law needed for her church group and a Christmas game

Fireplace redo.

back deck: which is useable, but still an ongoing project. I need to build out the section by the pool, and then build the outdoor kitchen in the section where the smoker is.

Garden the Mrs wanted

I think that enough pictures for one post… LOL
