Stepper motor specs

I am just working on gathering supplies for my first build. I have lots of mechanical knowledge but pretty limited on the electrical side. I have an old RepRap that I’m not using anymore with some stepper motets that seem to be compatible with my MPCNC build. However, given my limited electrical knowledge I’d really appreciate if someone could confirm.

The model number is SY42STH47-1504A. The main specs I could find are holding torque: 55.0 N·cm; rated voltage: 2.8 V; shaft diameter: Ø 5 mm; step angle: 1.8°.

Thanks in advance for any help.

they appear to be nema17 motors, so they should bolt up. if you fit them to an MPCNC, then they will work fine. Looks like the torque rating is similar if not higher than the ones spec’d for the lowrider. The only thing you will need to watch for is the YZ plate must be the newer version with the side plug cutout for the motor connection.

Thanks for the helpful response. My main worry was the rated voltage being different than the ones sold on the store here. However, some further reading seems to indicate to me that this voltage is not really relevant.

the voltage the power supply puts to the drivers is not the same voltage the driver puts to the coils. If it were a DC motor instead of a stepper, then it probably would matter.

You don’t mention shaft length. According to the parts list, it needs to be at least 20mm.

Another good point. Shafts are 21 mm so it should work.
