Steper motor advice using NEMA 17 - 42BYGHW609

I have 3 x Nema17 42byghw609

https://www.my-home-fab.de/en/documentations/technical-descriptions/technical-data-for-nema-17-42byghw609

Was hoping to use them as I have them left from a 3D printer build. And 5 others from an i3 build. But they look to be less powerful and of lower amperage.

Would they work? Or should I just buy the ones spec’d?

How import is it that all of the steppers are the same?

Plan is to build a 2 x 3 foot by 4 inch height MPCNC. To cut plywood and other wood. And if luck aluminium ?

Thanks for any advice!

Sorry, you are trying to push every boundary at the same time. You want to build a larger than recommended build, you want to mill aluminum, and you want to use tiny steppers. Is it possible, yes. Will it be fun and easy, no.

Thx How about a size of 24 inch by 30 inch? With the spec’d steppers and 1 inch OD 1/8 or 1/16 metal rails? Or is it just way more complex to go past the 24 by 24 size?

Yes, that is a much better idea. As I said anything will “work” I am just trying to give you the advice for a good experience. I have it on several pages, start small, learn. Go big after you understand what that actually means for every step of the process.
