Steel tubing headache - anybody from Belgium?

Hi guys,

I’ve been giving myself a headhache in the last few days, because for the life of me, I can’t source 29,5mm or 30mm or 32mm steel tubing in Belgium ! :tired_face:
That’s driving me crazy, because at this point it’s the only issue blocking me from upgrading my LR3.

Any belgians in here that could help me obtain some ?

And yes, I could order abroad and get it delivered, but I’d rather not pay more in shipping fees than in steel … I bought my LR3 tubes for like 30€, I’m not ready to pay 100+ for the LR4 :sweat_smile:

Tried your local electrical wholesaler? You should be able to get 32mm O/D metal conduit from them, although if the situation there is anything like here, it’ll be a special order item because electricians have taken to running 2 x 20mm conduits instead of ever using a 32mm… :laughing: Less things to keep on the van, I guess…

That, I found plenty of, but it’s all 1.2mm thick :unamused:
And Ryan is suggesting a minimum 1.3mm thickness, so I was hoping to find 1.5mm …

I feel your struggle.
While I don’t have a real item to offer, I went through the same process trying to find the material. I recommend checking all the random shops that sell things that are not exactly marketed as pipes, e.g. Hand rails, fence posts, water pipes, exhaust shops, curtain rods. They are not always the best options, but could be worth looking into. Also don’t dismiss the option to call steel supply shops directly. There is a chance that they might have things in stock that are not in the websites.

I bought stainless 30mm from Amazon.de (I’m in Denmark) Amazon.de

Delivery time was strangely long tho.

I might have found something in France, for an (almost) decent price.
