Status on Lowrider 4

I rejoice with and contratulate both @vicious1 and @bitingmidge in their successes on Printables. Peter has already won at least one Printables contest, and placed in at least one. His account on Printables is at Peter H | Printables.com

Peter is stellar at not just designing the model, but in listing it with gorgeous photos and careful descriptions, which helps in success (both popularity and contests).

The more V1 makers who do well in related areas such as Printables, the better for our V1 community.

Has the Jackpot enclosure been released? Looks different from LR3 enclosure. And I do not on printable.

Doug J - are you planning on updating your floating dust cover? I assume it’s mounting needs updated.

Thanks - Brian

My current plans are to

  1. get my full size LR4 built (I currently have only built a smaller RC3 (release candidate) LR4 on a 33"x33" table)

  2. get my dust collection system rebuilt

  3. Print and assemble Ryan’s impressive new dust shoe designed for LR4. (I printed a pre-release version, but not the final, yet. The final got changed and improved after my print of it.)

I don’t have any plans beyond that right now.

Thanks! - search was not showing this file. I see it now had hit show all models on Ryan Printables page.

Great - I find that hopefully on Printables. thanks. Yep, found.

All the files are linked from the instructions docs page, beyond that there is a “collection” of LR4 parts linked in the instructions and on my profile on printables.

What purpose do the indents an holes have on the inside of the YZ Plates?

You could add a dust skirt or other fancy stuff. It‘s just there for potential future upgrades.

Vaguely recall some of the indents are there for measuring and helping verify the prints are good. Just skimmed through YZ docs at LowRider CNC V4 - V1 Engineering Documentation but I couldn’t see any reference to these :man_shrugging: Guessing images with expected distances/dimensions will turn up at some point.

No, those markings are at the top of the side plates.

That’s what i thought they are for. Makes sense.

In General this thing is so nicely put together, everything just fits, no drilling or filing to get screws in. It just makes fun to build. Thanks Ryan

Hi everyone, I have a Ender V3 SE that i’m trying to get ready before printing the parts. Have printed several of these now and tweaked the printers firmware but not getting much past 950ish. Is this ok to print with?

When you need a new lowrider core in the next two hours.
(Actual time is 8 hours.)

Your printer setup is configured like the mpcnc.

Yep its a crossed gantry printer. Annex engineering k3.

Its a little hard to go fast with pla because its harder to cool it quick enough due to the enclosed and insulated/heated chamber.

Those are for emergency situations. I can use them to quickly QC my printers, and if someone has a router with a 10 degree tilt we can invoke the hidden test points. They are not as accurate as a actual test print but they will work in a pinch.

is this the same Jackpot Control Box offered as an option on the purchase page?

It is just the 3d printed case. The Jackpot board is sold seperatly

Understand. when I elected to get the board, the box was an option, just wanted to know if it was the same box. thanks
