I am using a 1.5kW water cooled spindle so I suspect that is the reason for the drop when the power is off.
Yes I used the standard build guide so a 4 start lead screw was used.
I will take a look at our local store for a 2 start and go from there.
For the config change my current settings are M92 X100.00 Y100.00 Z400.00, so would the new Z setting be 200 or 800? I think it would be 800, more steps now needed to move the same distance, correct.
Yes, it would be 800, and if you are setting a max federate in the firmware or in your CAD, I suggest you cut the values in half.

Thank you @robertbu that worked great, I changed out the Lead Screw and no more dropping Z.
Set the new steps and tested.
