Hi,
I see that this question has been asked, but for Europe. It seems that the only Nema motors that I can get in South Africa are about 62.5 OZ/IN
Will these work or does someone know of another supplier in South Africa that I can try?
Thanks

I think that these will be adequate. Even though the motors that we use are rated to 76 oz in, we don’t run them to their rated current. V1 firmware is set to 900mA for 2100mA motors, so we get somewhat less than half the rated torque.
Check the current rating for the motors that you can get. Stepper motors are rated for torque at a certain amount of current. Your might be rated for less current, but that’s OK, so long as it’s still more than 900mA. If it’s (for example) 1800mA, then at the firmware provided 900mA, you’ll have about the same amount of torque. Your motors might run a bit warmer though, so me careful there. We want the motors to stay at less than 50°C
Thanks for the info. I see it’s rated at 1.2A (1200 mA). So I think it will work
