[solved] Part List confusing me about the M and the amount

Hi together,

as first many thanks for this unbeleavable Project. My highly respect!

I am going to print all the parts now.
But after reading all of the Informations I am getting confused. I will therefore directly ask my misunderstandings.

Partlist h***s://docs.v1engineering.com/mpcnc/parts/ in addition to the FAQ
h***s://www.v1engineering.com/frequently-asked-questions/

1.) Are all of these Parts (BottomM_Corner*, LockM_Corner*, TopM_Corner*, *-Roller M) are the mentioned mirror parts in the FAQ? ( M= Mirrored parts- Some printers can’t do low overhang angles). I wonder where is the different, examining both Parts. Okay they are mirrored - but what would this change for the Printer itself, if the overhang is instead of the left side on the right side?

2.) The amount e.g. from Bottom_Corner* is given to 2. But aren’t there needed 4? The same to Lock-Corner and Top-Corner.

3.) Looking to the Partlist here h***s://www.v1engineering.com/blog/parts/ (entered via “Before you begin” => “Parts”). Why are the Text at some Parts grey, other Parts black?

Thank you in advanced

Yes, M = mirrored.

2 parts + 2 mirrored parts = 4 parts total
You want to put a mirrored part across from the non mirrored part on the same axis in order to help minimize or cancel out print errors.

That’s for if you want to follow Ryan’s color scheme. Totally optional you can print the grey font parts in one color and the black font parts in another color.

One thing it can help with is cancelling out any minor miscalibrations in your printer. The errors will cancel each other out. Also, take the mirrored part, flip it over, and look at where the overhang is, and where the support would have to be.

2 ea of the regular and mirrored, n’est-ce pas? They have the belt anchors, and the structural integrity of the support is kind of important…

Old docs… They’ve been going through some rewriting/reformatting.

Or, as mentioned, they are keys to pimping your build…

Or you can end up doing like me and reprint half the parts in different colors because of different printer issues and not wanting to buy more filament.

Then you get a nice rainbow colored printer

Thanks Folks!

I misunderstood the explanation. I thought I shold use only one of them. So just the ones without an M or just the ones with an M.
My fault.
Have a nice day and a good Project.

I agree with you. This part of the description was confusing: “Mirrored parts- Some printers can’t do low overhang angles well or don’t print well in general, so there is a mirrored version of the rollers.” It sounds as if you can pick either. @anon74685196 maybe clear this up? Maybe also an asterisk on why some parts are grey and some are black (for color combination options).
