Smoking Meat

Welp, went to Costco, then Lowes to grab what seemed to be the last chipper-shredder in Summit county, watched about all of the Youtube shorts, and then settled this guy in for the night. A right productive Sunday if I do say so🤣

It’s 8:30 now, we’ll be back around 2:30 to wrap him up in foil and continue until dinner tomorrow.

Done earlier than expected, it’s brisket for lunch then!

Upgraded the pifire to a pi zero 2w, then smoked some brazed beef ribs.

I love this recipe, but it’s so expensive.

Well it’s not brisket or anything fancy like that but does burgers and conecuh sausage at the race track count?

If anyone is interested in the PiFire mentioned above, I ordered the boards and had to purchase 5 each of the main board and the buttons board. I could be persuaded to part with a few pretty easily and for cheap.

Your wife told you to choose between her and the spare boards, did she? :joy:

The amount these cost and you only have to go in waist deep water? What a rip off!

That’s what I said.

Nope! She doesn’t even know I bought them. I have the whole project set up on a breadboard and figured for the cost I should do it right! She encourages it (she’s a good wife!). Plus, I don’t say squat about the miles of yarn in the house…

Fired up the weber after a couple month unused…
I think I’m good with the smoke >_<

Mine did that the first time I fired it up. The neighbor was standing next to me and asked, “is it supposed to do that.” I replied, “don’t know. How’s your insurance?”

Mine did that the first time also with the door open the fireball would have scared most men but it was quit impressive can’t imagine where the door would have ended up if it had been closed. It has never happened since :unamused:  :partying_face:

How in the world do you all do a couple months and not use them? We are at least 2 times maybe more per month and that is the Vertical smoker alone.

I use mine 2 times a week with the vertical and the barrel 1nce or twice a month. Vertical usualy ribs and butts in the barrel :yum: Turkey season is apon us soon :yum: :ok_hand:

I don’t post every meal I smoke. I’m doing pulled pork on Friday.

My big trailer one doesn’t get used nearly as much as I wish I could. Maybe it’s time to get some back bacon on the go.

On Sunday I decided I would smoke a pork shoulder for dinner today.

Today… I decided I should really check the weather before making such decisions.

52f and breezy this morning.

I forgot to post! :flushed:

Smoked some beer can chicken the other day. In my opinion it is the best way to have whole chicken. But really hard to do with an offset if you want the skin right. I prefer a pellet for quick cooks like this and using a offset for longer things (even though I lose way more sleep this way)
