SKR 1.4 Turbo + BIGTREETECH TFT35 E3 V3.0.1 Problems with TFT Firmware

Hi,

I build an MPCNC out of my old JGAurora A5 and a Laser engraver + stuff.

I liked the Display in the SKR Pro section, so I tried to buy that, but it was not available here so I ended up buying a SKR 1.4 Turbo and a TFT35 E3 V3.0.1.

So far everything is done, but the display makes problems:

I tried to flash the “3/22/23 bugfix rollup”, which is said to be working with the display but it does not flash. It hangs up at 99% of BIGTREE_GD_TFT35_V3.0_E3.27.x.bin

I downloaded and unziped multiple times using 3 FAT32 SD Cards max 2GB.

I then replaced that file with the version from: “Copy to SD Card root directory to update” and left the rest as it was. (File had a different size now, do not know why there is a difference, its the same repository)

This time it flashed all but the language file, dont care.

But in the screenshots the firmware had a Laser and Spindle button, mine does not, in fact all I really can use is movement, the rest is only for printers.

Also the firmware starts out with a 230k baud connection and therefore does not connect, so I suspect I do not have the correct firmware…

What can I do to flash the correct firmware?

The firmware for CNC still has the printer icons. We tried to get the CNC changes upstreamed to BTT, but they don’t want to do that as it would confuse the overwhelming majority of users that use this stuff for 3D printers.

The defaults on your firmware are for the SKR Pro 1.2 Marlin firmware from the V1e shop. You’re using different controller firmware on your SKR 1.4 turbo, so you’ll have to fix the baud rate.

I’m not sure you didn’t already flash the correct firmware.

All I’ve ever had to do with these are as you noted.

Extract those files onto a blank SD card, Fat32, less than 32Gb, and Class 4 are preferred.

Put it in the TFT and power cycle the TFT.

This is exactly what does not work, it does not upload, hangs at 99% with 3 different SD cars and multiple downloads, I just have no Idea what class they are. But all the newer ones are way to big to use…

I also tried to build my own from the master branch of the repository but that is full of “version control conflict marker in file” which I cant resolve…

So I uploaded a different version, from the folder as described above which also has a different file size.

I dont know what exactly the differences are, hence this post :slight_smile:
