That’s so cool! Hopefully you sell plenty!!
I’d be glad to sell one.
Without a practical example it’s not directly clear how they work. ![]()
Need to get them to mount one to the wall as a display. Show your holder and their skateboards
Yeah, but beggars can’t be choosers. ![]()
True! But maybe if you offer to mount one for them they will be good with that?? Cant hurt to ask that’s for sure lol.
You know that is a really slick way to add a touch mark. I really like that. Take some time and run off a dozen of the circles (or whatever shape), maybe an epoxy fill, then you can easily add them to any project. I think that was a fantastic accident.
What do you do if your Z is binding and makes a 6mm deep groove? You add a strip of purple heart and make it look epic. ![]()
Haha, making lemonaide Philipp.
Nah, does not look good.
The version with the long ass screws is pretty great looking. ![]()
Just sayin’ ![]()
A colleague I really appreciate is into skateboard and I thought I could cut this for him
But then, I immediately thought “i’d probably add a couple fillets and roundover though, and I need to find a way to hide those mounting holes” ![]()
Moreover, if you’re selling this on etsy (and congrats on the first sell, I bailed out before getting my first one
) , you should really consider most people find any kind of home improvement stuff “hard” and “complicated”
If your client is a half-stoned skateboarder, the simpler it is to mount, the more chances you have to sell it ![]()
Very nice model anyway, I love the simplicity, and your “happy accidents” are a great addition ![]()
The holes are drilled and the screws are included, not getting any easier. ![]()
There’s a new, slim version (the last one I posted) that is 1cm less deep. Uploaded the new files here: Projekte – HaWiWe
Oooffff!
I had to get new oak for my mounts from my local dealer (it’s an old lady who took over the business (a sawmill, but they are not doing sawing themselves any more) from her dad and is now basically only selling the leftovers (which is a huuuuuge amount of wood still)).
The last time, being a new customer, I paid 60€ for a board with that was 2000x300x30. She did actually calculate it would have been 80€, but she had told me 60€ before so she stuck to her quote. I had called her at 7 in the evening the day before panicking because I had an order for a double and didn’t have enough wood on hand. She was cool about it, I took my son with me to pick up the wood (cute kid bonus) and brought her a wooden box I made (because she was being so nice).
This time when I called she still knew me, said she knew what I needed this time and she had two boards in mind. I got more money from the ATM because I didn’t want to come short handed again…
We selected those two boards:
I asked how much it was and she said 40€. I was like “each, right?” (which would have been quite a fair price). She was “no, both. They are short and you are basically taking the leftovers.” (which is, in my opinion, a blatant lie, I think she just likes me, like, who doesn’t)… I gave her 50€ because it felt like robbing her at gunpoint. The boards are 1700x330x28 and 2000x220x30…
I am really happy I stumbled upon that lady. Their shop doesn’t have a website, they don’t have e-mail and you can basically only find them if you happen to drive past and notice the sign (which is old and beaten-up). Best dealer ever.
