I carved it on my Workbee, with ESTLcam/cnc.
Had a lot of tearing on the board, but I had this multi-plex board laying around no idea what it was.

This really needs the word anniversary in the title. I read that wrong at first and was like wow.
Nice work there. That about 2’ by 2’ or so? How did you get the black in the grooves? just paint it all and then sand the top? or something else?

Wow, that’s impressive!
It’s paint I first tried to make it gold but I didn’t had full transparent lacquer. And the oak lacquer did made the wood pop but totally washed out the gold paint. So I spray painted it black sanded it did another 2 finish layers and called it a day.
Size is 50x57cm or 20”x20” about.

I think that he was asking how it was done, not suggesting to do it differently.
He was also referring to the original post title (which said 50th wedding, not anniversary
The OP answered the question, and changed the title, so no harm, no foul (IMO)

The sign says 50 years married in dutch.

I missed that. My mistake. I thought it was a comment on the engraving. I was surprised at the criticism. But it didn’t actually exist!
