What do/did you ferment in it? Beer? Wine? Mead? 
What’s the likelihood of getting that valve fixed? Know a decent cooper who would make you a “real” keg?

Beer! I have plenty of buckets, so the lack of the keg is not bothering. The valve is easy to get hold of, as a spare part. Right now the MPCNC has a far higher priority than having many fermentation vessels…
What actually happened with thte keg was that I tightened the valve to tight (OCD kicking in), so that during fermentation, the whole valve came off. 25ltrs of beer on the floor of a basement storage room. My blessed wife was at home at the point and got the pleasant job of swabbing it all up…

We survived 25 ltrs of beer on the floor - but it depends if we’ll survive me spending much more time on this forum, and with the mpcnc - than with her! Luckily, she’s obsessed herself with other likes, weaving, spinning, dying etc. she also likes beer, so thats indeed fortunate.
