Maybe you should invent wireless stepper motors!

That reminds me of a robot arm I did a few years back using ROS. I used to follow the build of this guy John Lauer. He came up with a solution of a zero wire robotic arm. Each actuator in the arm had is own mini controller powered by an ESP32 chip. The gcode was communicated to these nodes wirelessly. The power was transferred through slip rings. It was pretty neat.

In retrospect, it seems likely the wiring issue was intermittent, and I merely mistakenly thought reboots were helping.
