Pretty slick idea.
I had the same question. There are some straps and hooks holding it down. My only concern is where the straps are grabbing. But if it works, more power to you.
yes but it can only run flat at the moment

ive change all the wood parts for metal parts so ive install straps
ive install hook under the table

If there’s a way to track both “y” sides with some cheapo linear rails, cant see a reason the machine would not work sideways. (At lower speeds, not at 90°s more like 60)
