Roto Tom - Drum

I’ve been busy working on various projects with my MPCNC but haven’t shared much until now. Since larger-sized roto toms aren’t typically available, I decided to design one myself and build it using the MPCNC. I’m still in the testing phase and plan to put it through plenty of wear and tear before moving on to other sizes.

I started with a 12" drum, keeping it simple without sanding or finishing—mainly because I want to see how it performs before investing time in the finer details.

I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I have no idea about drums at all, but I do know that looks rad!

As a drummer: That’s so cool! I only build a Cajon and a Tongue Drum with the CNC, but that looks like a really neat project! :tada:

I still need to cut a better bearing edge to make it sound better. This is just the first version to work some things out. Just like a regular roto tom the pitch changes when you rotate the drum and it so far has held up to a lot of tension.

Thanks for checking it out.

Maybe next I can take a crack at a cajon.

Back in the day, my friends and I all wanted to play like Tim Alexander from Primus and Roto-Toms were a must have in the kit. So cool!
