There was Prusa and E3D. But if you had come, I think you would have been the from the furthest place. Maybe next year.
Iām āhalfā planning for it! My beloved is very disappointed we wonāt be able to make the Prague Makers Faire as planned and the Rocky Mountains do have an allure. (Weāve never seen snow fall for instanceā¦)
Donāt worry Iām quite friendly and when I bite itās only playing.
Thanks for all the updates!! Cool!!
What a wonderful thread, the event is over but the energy and collective motivation to ākeep creativeā is stronger than ever.
Thanks to all of u for the post and pics here. The future of team V1 looks bright.
I am so glad that energy comes through, it is infectious there, and I desperately try to convey that feeling. I stood next to Jamie he puts my hardware ambitions to shameā¦but now I really want to step it up, I think I soaked up some of his mojo! We also got to chat with the lead designer of the E3D Revo project for a little bit, WOW, large scale manufacturing adds a whole new layer of complexity that I really do not even consider when I design things.
When you are there the level of genius is insane, I heard several people say something along the lines of āno this is just a stock Voron (or whatever) that I builtā. People are doing such wild things, it starts to make some people feel like building their own 3D printer from scratch is not a monumental accomplishment. My response was always, āhow many of your real life friends even know what a 3D printer is, let alone could even start to build one from scratch!?ā
Another thing that really knocked my socks off is one of the Voron design team came up and introduced himself and started showing me his MPCNC build. He has not shared it hereā¦and it was flawless. He never used it for anything other than maybe a crown. He said he gave it to a friend whoās first project was a two sided carving. I think the Voron team does a magnificent job in terms of highly functional parts that are stylish, so to think anyone of them looked at my parts and decided to build it made me feel pretty good.
Iām so bumped out that I couldnāt make it! I was really looking forward to meeting you all in person
Thank you for all the updates, pictures and videos! I love it!!
Wow thatās really cool about the Voron dev!!
Heeyyyyy, I may have to find that topic again, but @vicious1 I really believe you said you had something creative that you were pondering and thought you may reveal at or after RMRRF, welllllll, WHAT WAS IT?? LOL.
It didnāt make it, no time for new stuff, but Jamie had some ideas I canāt wait to follow up on.
Thatās so cool!
@jamiek I sent a wood token to Iceland and the Czech Republic today. Having fun tucking them in.
He had a couple leftover after the show, so I brought them home to send them out to random orders.
They would be super to leave in geocaches
OMG, check this out.
āSpeaking of trade shows, the Canton Fair, Chinaās largest import and export trade show, is also recently being held in Guangzhou China, from April 15 to May 5, with an exhibition area of 1.5 million square meters and 70,000 booths.ā
Told a vendor about RMRRFā¦we have some work to do to get to that size.
Did the big group photo come out?
Gotta figure that many of those booths in China may be relevant to the RMRRF.
Visiting such an event sounds like a great opportunity to discover partners, products, services, ideas and moreā¦
Thatās awesome. Forgot to ask them to sign my/our hotends , something that they and us would rememberā¦
You have to share a picture of your collection!
When she gets home from work I will get it.
There is some sort of hole in the fabric of the planet that your machines/work/support permeates through.
I am 63 on Friday, career in health, wannabe engineer, retiree⦠having my LR2 going again thanks to your kind sending me that second hand board has really made my month.
Your gear rocks and I am thinking of nominating your for an Order of Australia for āServices to Engineeringā.
We love you Bro.
