Rethinking my lowrider setup

Awesome!
Thanks @SupraGuy
Where did you get your longer linear rails from?

Amazon.

OUYZGIA MGN12H 200mm Linear… Amazon.ca

Edit: apparently that listing has 250mm as the minimum length now, but there are others.

awesome. thanks,
I actually need to to a few mm taller to get my endmill over the 4" so 250 will be OK.
I just won’t push my gantry higher than needed.

one more question
I have the prusa mini for a printer - 7" cube build volume.
will the printed parts fit in that, or will I need to find someone to help me print some of them.

Someone did an onshape version that you coild plug in any number to. My plates.wont accomodate more than the 200 because other things need to mallow the extra height as.well (Z stops and the opening for the XZ plate/stub)

So 178x178x178mm?

Most everything but the core and the plates your and Dan are talking about but I’m assuming you will cut that with the lr2?

OK, so I’m back tracking a bit
I’m am going to fix the LR2 but not focus on tall cuts using lifted rail.

two reasons
1 - the LR3 needs some part cut and need a way to cut them
2 - something came up that I need to hold off on the LR3 but I don’t want to be fully out of a cnc.

I’ve disassembled the LR2 and noticed the bearings are dirty etc. What is the best way to clean them?
One note, out of the package (bought off Amazon) they had a oil substance on them and they don’t spin freeliy (like a fidget spinner - sorry best comparison I could think of). should they spin fast (they spin smooth)? should I have cleaned the oil off first?

I have all the needed replacement parts printed and ready to assemble tonight.

Make sure they roll smooth, and just wipe them down. They have grease inside so you could mess up and wash it out.
