Reptile enclosures galore!

Finally getting to use my LR3 for what I originally built it for.

My fully parametric design, I can adjust just about every detail and make any size enclosure I or anyone else would want.

This was just a test done on the cheapest OSB money can buy just to make sure my design works. Eventually these will be made using expanded PVC sheets (when i can find the time to drive halfway across my state to a supplier).

First prototype is a resounding success in my books, just needs some details added, vents, lighting cutouts, etc. Super happy with the results though.

Heck yeah, all sorts of fancy things you can do to boxes with a CNC that are super easy.

NICE!

I cut out a scale model to have a better example to show off, hopefully some local reptile keepers will want to buy some. On another note expanded PVC cuts like butter. I was able to do full 3/8 inch passes at 150 ipm, machine didn’t even start to sweat.

Cool!

I assume the doors on the front will be Acrylic or Plexiglass?

It will be even more fun with PVC sheets! OSB has nasty glue and wood variability which might make it annoying to mill.

Just some more enclosures that I’ve mocked up plus testing out cutting vent slots.

This one is essentially complete besides the glass door track. Needs silicone in the corners to make it water tight but this bad boy could hold so many (approx. 1) lizard

Oh you gotta get fancy with those slots, give them a curve or something. Need to show off that is was not done by hand. They look fantastic but not many people can do a curved or “S” shaped slot, for you takes no extra time.

Simplified version of some reptile line art? Could have a couple of choices?

Heffe, you might need some adult time. The kids might be seeing Dad a little too much. :joy:

Definitely !

Also, rounded corners instead of plain 90°sharp corners do look a lot more professional with little to no extra cost
