Pushing the Limits Setback

All was going GREAT - Until I stored my MPCNC in the carport. All my parts are printed with PLA. Mobile is hot - upper 90’s, and humid. Picture shows the trollies have stretched open. Suggestions appreciated.

Forgot to say – 1 month

Assuming you mean Mobile, AL. If so I am only about an hour away from you in FL and yes, its HOT. But My primo hasn’t ever done that before. Makes me wonder if there was something up with that PLA.

Wow! I’ve had mine in the garage in central Texas for a few years and have not seen anything like that.

Is it all 4 trucks or just one?

Was the Primo on its side? The weight and heat could have accelerated the plastic creep causing that truck to spread out.

One last dumb question. Are you certain you printed the correct parts to match your tubing? And if so did you check that your tubing was the correct diameter?

What material did you print with? PLA is the standard recommendation. But if you’re keeping it in a hot place, PETG might be better.

He says PLA but something doesn’t seem right about it. He is in the exact same climate I am in, and I have never had one do that.

This I could see being part of it, but if it was sitting flat then that’s very odd. My primo has been out in my garage for 2-3 years now and it gets well over 100° out there and its never pulled the trucks open like that.

Yes I do store it on its side because of the space it saves. Upon do a little Dick Tracy work, Im thinking it was the Pla I used. It was from a crafts store and NOT a name brand. Im going to reprint the trucks and cross my fingers. (18 hrs / truck). Its the only thing that makes sense to me. THANKS for all the replies. :+1:

:eyes: What settings are you using??

3 walls - 45% infill. and you?

That sounds about right. Must be on an old ender 3 or something. Did I read that right, 18 hrs = 1 truck? So 72 hrs for 4 trucks?

Yes, its an old Ender 3 pro. Cura gives me 13 hrs, and Orca, which gives me better prints, is 18 hrs. I guess I’ll jump in a zoom room and have them help me tweek my Orca settings

Guessing you are using a .4mm nozzle. Sucks it will take that long but at least you can get them done.

Just for frame of reference of why I asked. I loaded all 4 of the trucks on one plate for my MP3DP V5 and at the same 3 top/bottom/walls and 45% infill its 9h 15min for all 4 of them. So I would have thought an ender could do at least 1 in that time lol
