Purple Beta Build

Hi All!
I’ve been working on building my own beta Compass, and wanted to share with you the progress I’ve been making.
I got the kit almost two weeks ago, but apart from printing the parts, I’ve only really started building today.
So first of all, I’ve printed everything on my old trusty Ender-3 and I have to say it went through beautifully without any fails or needing to reprint anything, and I was left with about 200g out of the 1kg spool I got for it. (the lighting in my garage is terrible, but believe me, it’s purple)

The TPU parts were the most challenging, but they’re pretty simple to print (two layers, nothing fancy), we’ll see how they perform.
Next step was starting to solder (which is something I haven’t done in the last few years) and I managed to get the rotary encoder, the limit switches and the buttons all soldered.

Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get to solder all the headers and start the actual assembly.

tpu on an ender, bravo! You must have upgraded your hotend/direct drive.

I am ready for it, but never bought tpu!

Stock hot-end with bowden tube… TPU works, but you have to print real slow

man, good 4 u, I was never successful as stock, but once I went MicroSwiss, it changed EVERYTHING, my 2nd one was actually bought on Prime Day, Microswiss goes on sale then.

Both my printers are Ender, and Longer (ender clone) Both have the Microswiss direct drives. Both are 100% dependable now.

that one there, the complete kit. i did find that a brass nozzle works better than their hardened nozzle.

Just info, in case you ever want to change.

Thanks for the information! I would definitely consider it, maybe that’s the next project after the compass.

Woooo looking good! Hahah wow I didn’t realize you were printing TPU with the bowden setup . Good for you for having the patience. Direct drive definitely makes it a lot easier
