Do you have an ETA for when Primo hardware kits will be back in stock?
Hi, Sorry the MPCNC kits are on hold for a bit. I need to get a handle on this Import tax situation. So they are at least a month out.
Thank you for the information, Ryan. I completely understand. The import tax and tariff situation has caused mayhem with many businesses and products, unfortunately, especially hobby industries that rely heavily on imported products.
@vicious1 I am interested in buying a Primo kit. I’m from The Netherlands. Any news on the tariff situation?
Have you considered the LR? It’s only marginally more expensive and in my eyes clearly the preferable machine. I own a Primo and built both the LR3 and the LR4 (three times) and can only recommend the LR4 warmly.
There is an international kit for it as well and if you need printed parts, I can do that for you.
Yeah at this point I am wondering if the MPCNC gets retired. The LR4 fits the bill very well and I am doing what I can not to increase the prices. So if I had the MPCNC back the price would actually go up from what is shown. The price difference is minimal.
I think to bring back the MPCNC it would need a full revision.
Still deciding. I have a few tricks up my sleeve yet so I am not saying anything officially yet.
I hope you don’t retire the MPCNC yet since I have already printed all of the pieces! How much do you think the price would increase?
In the US, at least 55%. Currently the volume is just not there. If I revamp it it will surge again I am sure but the LR4 is a great replacement.
As for your printed parts I have some of the parts here, the rest you can very easily self source.
+1 to the others saying LR4 is great. I also started with a MPCNC, then made a LR3 and then LR4.
But since you printed the parts, you can still self source most of the things yourself to complete your build. Many of the parts are in the v1 store
- Jackpot
- (5) steppers
- GT2 belt
- (4) pulleys
- (8) idlers
- Power supply
- (45) bearings
- Coupler
- Endstops / wires or get a roll of wire and make your own ends
Still need
- T8 leadscrew and nuts. Probably 100 different options on Amazon. Just needs to be T8 and 200mm
- Wiring kit
- Hardware listed on the kit page. Looks like they have Tractor supplies in the state located on your profile. When I built mine years ago, I got lots of the hardware there cheap. It was priced per pound.
Even if there was a kit, you got to get your own rails and spindle.
- Rails are easy to get at Home Depot / Lowes
- Lots of people use the Makita for a spindle.
Please double check my work if you go this route. I’m just a community member and may have made a mistake in the list of parts.
@srcnet: Thanks, that is a good idea. I will buy everything I can from the V1e store and get the rest of the parts elsewhere. Hoping to get my build going this month!
