While working on my 4 Z motors schema I did realize that MPCNC may benefit from a similar solution. Instead of wiring X and Y motors in series or parallel CNC shield (2 for $7 on Amazon) may provide more power to steppers on MPCNC. You may even power X and Y with higher voltage (up to 36V). Comparable schema works for my 4 Zs.
[this is not MPCNC] There is a benefit of going with multiple motors - auto squaring (cubing) Z. And this is going to be my next step. So I would need at least 3 motors on Z
To some extent, it is necessity one of my builds has 3 Z motors with 4start leadscrews and its gantry creeps on one side once I turn off the power. Since I am lazy I am getting tired of leveling it every time :).
