Polyurethane foam question

Hi Everyone!

As I can’t find HDU here in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, I was wondering if someone tried to carve Polyurethane foam ( the one used for insulation, in a spray)?

If yes, how do you “mold” it into a block without hole inside (“Gruyere” style!), and what finishing do you used (sanding/vernish/paint, etc…)

What about those mats you can buy to stand on, in office or workshop? They can have somehow similar properties

I got some, but they are 1" thick at maximum, maybe gluing some together…?
