Im seriously considering getting this locally from someone in my town for cheap and using it as a foundation for my LR3 build. Anyone try this?
A ping pong table is pretty much the perfect size for a full sheet. There was a ping pong table or two with the LR1. I would probably disassemble it and reassemble it with supports that force it flat, and stable.
They can also be found for pretty cheap used. And almost no one wears them out (unless it got wet or something).
Nice!
I used one for the LR1…
It was a cheap table and wasn’t really flat. I later tried reinforcing it torsion box style, but didn’t really have a decent table saw to do it properly.
I upgraded the frame and ran steel strut along the bottom side to force flat. First spoilboard looks like this but I’ll eventually probably try a t-track. Not sure how well it will pack up if not in use, but we shall see.
Also opted for the dual rail which is hard to get parallel but not impossible. With the plastic I want to cut out it was getting under the bearing rollers, so hopefully rail mitigated that issue.
