Oversize

Hello

Hope someone can help me with this. I’m using FluidNC in my LR3, I’ve calibrated my steps per mm and now it’s perfect. I recently switched from Estlcam to VCarve Pro. The problem I’m having is that when I run a test where I mill out two squares, 50x50 mm, one with an external cut and the other with an internal cut, I get an oversize on the external cut by 1.5 mm and an undersize on the internal cut. I’ve set the tool with the correct diameter of 3.175 mm, and I’ve tried running extremely carefully to rule out flex in the machine and tool, but I get the same result: 1.5 mm off in either direction depending on whether I choose internal or external milling. Grateful if anyone has any suggestions on what might be causing this. Excuse my Google English.

I ran into this several times due to having the correct bit diameter in the tool description.

Not every bit you buy is actually the diameter listed. If you don’t have the exact diameter in the tool description I have seen that effect.

Measure the bit diameter with a good set of calipers, and set that value into the tool description.

I thought of it first. the measurement of the tool is correct, but 1.5 mm is so extremely much. I didn’t have this problem with Estlcam.

Have you got any offset allowance in the Machine Vectors box.

I laid out the problem according to your written description. Vcarve is doing exactly what you are asking it to do. Would you like for me to send you the file. Cutouts should measure 50mm for outside cut and 46.825 inside cut. I must be missing something in my interpretation of your written description.
