Open Sauce 2024!

June15-16 San Francisco…anyone going??? If you are unsure what the event is, think a more fun Maker Faire with a lot of YouTubers running around.

I just got accepted to be there again, I am very excited to do it again.

The links is here, https://opensauce.com/

Bummer how that picture got cropped, wish they would have let us know the aspect ratio.

Looks like the combat robots and battle bots are coming back.

One way or another, am definitely going to be there. Don’t know yet whether I’ll be exhibiting, attending or helping someone who’s approved for exhibiting

I am going to be there for all three days. And RMRRF. Should be a fun summer.

IF we could somehow safely run a CNC at Open Sauce, what would be a neat thing to have being rapidly, repeatedly cut and engraved, and/or lasered? Ideally something small, useful, fun, that shows off LR3 capabilities? Would be nice to churn out bunch of useful things small enough to give to many attendees.

Best idea I can think of is a bunch of ply/polycarbonate drinking coasters. Would need laser for fine detail though. e.g. Rebranded version of this…

Cheers!

LOL, coaster with lanyard holes, and maybe landyards, so attendees can wear them as they walk around. Nice!

A local makerspace laser etched some slate coasters. My daughter got one and she won’t let anyone else use it.

Looks like they are about $1 ea. I don’t know how many we could possibly engrave in 2 days, or how we would choose who got one.

Oh cool. I saw him. But I didn’t see him at our booth. He seemed to get the name and concept right.

I looked up the track stacker, because I meant to, and maker’s muse reminded me. And it is open source:

They even list sources for the magnets and marbles.

I had to put it on its own line so the server would show the thumbnail. Front and center.
