I am looking for a modified LowRider v4 Makita Dust Shoe that will accept a direct connection from a 4" dust collection hose. My entire dust collection system runs on a 4" hose connection. Every major tool in my garage has 4" dust port and I plan on hanging a 4" hose from the ceiling directly to this CNC.
To limit adapters, I would like to re make the dust shoe to have a 4" hose connect directly to a 4" hose. Has anyone already done this or does anyone have the fusion/onshape files that I can modify. This would save a significant amount of design time since I won’t have to reinvent the wheel.
Are you completely against necking down to 2.5" at the CNC? My entire dust collection system is built on 4" as well, and I drop down to 2.5 to run across the back of the beam and up to the core like Ryan designed. I understand not everyone wants the same thing. Just thinking that 4" hose is going to be a lot pulling around on the core and could cause you some unwanted deflection.
You make good points. I already have a bunch of 4" hose and I have no 2.5" hoses. If I do have any deflection, i will look into down sizing. My dad made the LR v3 and has a 4" hose connected directly to the gantry with an adaptor. So, If possible, I would really like to try and make the dust shoe with a 4" hose.
