I made a little nostalgia project now my kids can replay my childhood.
Designed it from scratch.
Impressive!!
That is rad, I have all the controls and a monitor ready for my build…probably 3 years on the shelf.
It’s great, I run batocera on a mini pc and it works great if you want I can share the dxf
Very nice.
I have a box that has all the controls, and speakers, but no monitor. I also have several sets of controls and different kinds of controls waiting for various builds…
Batocera is a good way to go, it seems. “Just works” is a big selling point.
Control sets that I have and specific games I want to get set up:
Trackball for Centipede. Maybe also a few other analog games, Arkanoid, Marble Madness, Tac/Scan…
GRS Flite yoke because Star Wars arcade ate so many of my quarters in the 80s. I figure I can make Spy Hunter and maybe a few other driving games work with it acceptably.
Double joysticks for Karate Champ. Not a popular control option, so not much I can really do there. Maybe Robotron 2084, but Karate Champ ate a lot of quarters, too.
The box I have now has a pretty standard arcade/Capcom layout, also works well for NeoGeo, so most games work fine with it. I also have 2 USB connectable arcade joystick boxes to get some 4 player action going.
I kind of think what I need to do is make a control board dock to be able to switch out controls relatively easily.
I love the old games like Galliga and Arkanoid that’s why I have the spinner.
And there are two usb ports underneath for my sinden light guns for duckhunt and operation wolf and thunderbolt. Or extra controllers
That is so slick very nice work !!!
I got a old cabinet and got it running and then added a swivel monitor. So it’s kind of a work station and game area.
I really want to get a track ball setup for golden tee. And some guns for Area 51 and buck hunter.
I did manage to make some spinners and a cheesy steering wheel for 4x4 off road. You can make one with a old mouse.
My daughter and her friends just finished battle toads. Man the kids love it.
Yeah my kids love it to, they play anything on it from MK2 to operation wolf. (The sinden guns are great) and 1942.
Even mario kart 64!
